so i’m trying to edit a video together for school, and it’s in mpeg4 format and the editor won’t take it unless its in wmv or avi. does anyone know a good free converter that doesn’t leave a watermark? all the ones i tried have left watermarks.
So I just got photoshop cs4 and it’s the BOMB. i’ve been doing a lot of typography on it and i’ve been using text it’s not that I’ve lost text it’s just not visible afterwards I can see what I’ve typed. How do I get it back to see the text as I am typing it! HEEELPP
I have 2 users on my PC running windows xp. Both have adm authority. I have no problem DLing Flash Player 10 on one of the users “sides” of the PC. On the other side I get to the DL manager, it get through the process but displays-”Failure to register”. I have tried all the KB issues at Adobe related to FP10. Changed the security settings, made sure both user sides matched. I also get referenced to KB19166 at Adobe and I follow all instructions and all variants given and still only the one side get through to a working FP10. I do the uninstalls, reboots and all that and still no progress. I have also tried non Adobe site stand alones too with no resolution.

I recently got a new computer with Windows 7 on it and I have already downloaded Windows Movie Maker Live on it but I’m not too thrilled with it. With my old computer I used the Windows XP version of Windows Movie Maker a lot for projects. So my question is it possible to download the old version on to my new computer? I would like to setup an FTP and wants my computer at home as the server because I want to access my home files especially when I am away at work and when travels are frequent. I have a bulletproof.ftp as my ftp software and a 24hr running 1mbps internet connection. The problem that I have now is that I cant seem to setup my own. Can somebody help me? If you can give me suggestion of what software to use, how to publicly access it since I have a DHCP IP from my ISP, and manuals I can read, that is greatly appreciated. Okay so I get a internet connection called linksys? & i don’t pay for my internet but it does connect and I usually get about 2-3 bars. But in the last week It keeps saying that the page cannot be displayed, or it goes to google and says the link is broken. Which i don’t understand because i’ve accessed some of the links before and they worked. & my msn messenger will sign in, and then sign out and then wont connect anymore. I have norton security & its out of date so it doesn’t really do anything anymore? idk. but i have the windows firewall. it is currently turned on. I’ve scanned my computer & it says its fine. I am actually on my computer right now and it will let me access some sites. But then it will say page cannot be displayed. It is strange and is driving me insane. I do not have another computer or access to any other internet. This internet usually works perfectly, but in the past week not so much. I use a compaq windows vista. i have a problem with my internal HDD. When this all happened, i was playing a game online. I got a Virus Worm and i shut down my computer and reformatted my HDD and put windows back on. I had a secondary HDD in for back-up purposes. so got windows in and put everything back, but i then noticed that my computers performance went down drastically with my main HDD, I could not copy anything i had onto the back-up drive and once i did it was so slow to copy the file. Once i had all the files on the back-up drive, i decided to start from the back-up drive with windows. Same applied. It was really slow with the reading-and-writing. i decided to take the secondary back-up drive out and boot from the main HDD. Everything seemed to be running smoothly i checked the main HDD Temperature with HD tune. The drives temp was 37 degrees Celsius, and the drive went to normal temperature of 43-44 degrees Celsius. I then decided to plug in the secondary HDD and leave it on for a day. the temperature went from 43-44 degrees to 47-48 degrees Celsius. So my guess is that the HDD drives are getting way to hot, and i am getting what seems like bad sectors in the drive, but it has never done this before. I have always had my back-up drive in ever since i got my main HDD. I can’t place my finger on what is wrong with my drives. Once the main HDD is lower temperatures the drive seems to be performing better. but its normal temperature is 43-44 degrees Celsius and i still have some problems with reading and writing then. Can someone tell me what has happened please. I dont know if it was from the worm virus or if the temperatures are getting too hot (but has never done this before) can someone tell me what to do. I have changed the line leading into the motherboard as well, and that seems to have no effect. i even swapped the board lines between the CD drives and the HDD drives, no effect on that either. can someone tell me what is going on, i have ran out of options. mmk, so my antivirus expires in march and i’m thinking about switching….i currently have trend micro internet security, because it came with my laptop last christmas, however i’m considering going back to norton, because i had them for like 7 years on my old computer and had very few problems…it blocked alot of crap from my computer too lol. i know that trend micro has blocked some stuff too but it updates constantly and it drives me a little crazy lol. i absolutely refuse to get mcafee, i hate mcafee. its a piece of crap not worth my money, so many people that i know who had it and had trouble with it eithor just glitches or letting crap in other antivirus programs wouldn’t have. and they didnt have their settings turned down low…i dont trust the free antiviruses eithor [avg, avast, avira, etc] because i just dont feel safe with them…i’ve heard kaspersy is pretty good, but what is in your opinion the best [thats not eithor mcafee or one of the free ones? lol] thank you!! …My screen saver didn’t come on and the screen went black and said something like ‘video driver and 3-D wasn’t up to date’, so I went to Intel and updated driver and ran some kind of program. My Avira Anti virus come up saying I had malware, I cleaned it. Checked to see if my screen saver came up, it didn’t. So I tried system restore, didn’t work. restored for an earlier time, didn’t work. What is wrong and how can I fix it…without using my recovery disks which it looks like i will have to do. I’ve had my laptop since like April, and just at the beginning of this month it started getting really slow (online and offline), and eventually started warning me about how my hard disk is apparently bad, and I should send it to my manufacturer or something. I was able to hit cancel on these notifications and ignore them, and go about whatever I was doing. I don’t want to buy a whole new laptop :(. Maybe ignoring the warnings of imminent failure wasn’t wise, but I can’t even boot up right anymore. It was just a bad hard disk, I don’t think I had any terrible viruses. In fact I don’t even know what caused this. —-the question——- But yeah, if I bought a new hard drive, would that fix everything? I’d be pretty much back to where I was when I first got the thing, assuming I bought a hard drive of the same size? —————————– I assume it’s the slightly cheaper option as opposed to buying a whole new laptop (Dell Studio 15). If I did, would I just unscrew/take out the hard drive in there now, buy a new one and screw that one in? And I’m good to go? I deleted norton virus since my account already expired. So I borrowed my brother’s Mcafee and installed it to my computer. I tried getting on the Internet but when I do the page connection says cannot be connected. So I checked the signal strength and it says ” very good” but it’s still not connected? I was on the internet (Mozilla Firefox) and I was just browsing then a message came up and said something like ‘Windows defender needs you to restart your computer to solve a problem’ so I clicked it and then it obviously restarted. I tried to log onto my user area and it took longer than usual to load up and when it finally loaded up it had a blank background and my documents, no task-bar or shortcut. The only way I got onto the internet was by going on my downloads going on Spotify and then clicking on an advert, for the past couple of days I’ve been getting warnings saying that I have a harmful virus so I clicked ‘Remove’ and it said it had gone but every hour or so it kept coming back up. Hi, i had my laptop about 3 weeks ago and 1 week ago i went to log into my account and after i put my password in and clicked enter it said welcome with the loading icon and just stayed like that. It did this every time i tried to log on. I could start it in safe mode. I just wiped my computer clean and started again with the disk. The same thing happened yesterday. Wouldn’t you know it, though. At evewry single site, that I can mention, I have brought back viruses, worms, and “tons” of spy-ware. And this is from the “clean”, “safe”, web-sites. I’ve always had no problems with getting internet on my computer. Now I can’t connect. I’ve checked and everything is plugged in. I don’t think it is a problem with the cables because I don’t get the message “Local cable disconnected”. All the other computers in my house are working fine. I think that something is wrong with the actual computer. I had a trojan (InternetSecurity2010) before that happened, maybe that has something to do with it? I’ve tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Other odd things are happening too…after a few hours or so none of the applications will work (iTunes, microsoft word, etc) and a lot of the words start to disappear. Likeee, the start button at the bottom left corner doesn’t say start, it just is a green blob and when you click on it, it only shows the picture for each application. I’ve run spybot and malwarebytes scans and they both came up with nothing. I dont have any actual antivirus to run because I was in the middle of downloading Kaspersky Anti Virus when it happened and whenever I put in the code, it says that it can’t download because it can’t access the internet. I was up at night on facebook and then I get a notification saying that someone I usually dont really talk to has commented on a photo of mine. so I clicked on it and it made another tab which i found weird, but wanted to know what it was. Then when it loaded it was a scary picture of a person with enlarged eyes that moved flashed fast in my face and just looked creepy. Well It was night time and needless to say it scared the heck out of me, and I automatically closed my eyes and manage to shut my computer down with the button.I turned my comp back on, but unfortunately it restored my facebook page so then it showed me the scary clown IT picture moving fast in my face. I was sorta ready for it so i quickly closed the tab. Now I get notifications saying these people have commented on my picture but some of them send me to a application which i refuse to allow cause it might send me back to that scary picture thing. I did run a scan virus right after because i figured it was a virus but my scan said my computer is fine so yeah I cant find anyone who has had this exact experience but just wondering if it has happened to others?
I generally create doc from a pre-existing and save as. The first will convert but then the second won’t, other than different text the logos footers etc are the same. It comes up on screen as file converted but when you click to open it returns with file does not exist. If i start cutting things out, at some point it may convert but I never quite identify a specific glitch. Is it me or my programmes??

I have a virus that is not allowing me to view hidden files or folders. It won’t either allow me to run regedit or any programs to fix that. But I can access most of my files for backup. I just want to somehow select my hidden files, and copy them to a hard drive for backup, but it won’t let me unless I am able to view them. I have two computers that I’m now having problems with. yesterday, my first computer shut down and said “RPC has been terminated”. everytime I restart that computer, it gives me another 1:00 minute shut down warning. I know I need to change the settings of the RPC, but it shuts down before I can ever get to it. is there another way to fix this? The second computer messed up today. I was researching how to fix the other RPC problem and my computer shut down. when it rebooted, I now have “Internet security 2010″ installed and I can’t delete it. I had a similiar virus before and was able to manually delete the virus, but this one won’t let me open task manager or the registry to delete it. it’s even taken over my Internet and won’t let me on. so I’m stuck trying to research problems on my iPhone. I read somewhere that if you can’t get task manager to open that you need to wipe out your hard drive. I don’t think I’m losing the monitor, it’s a fairly new laptop designed for Windows XP by Dell. I’m renting to own it and before I’m done paying it off I want to make sure nothing is wrong with it. I don’t use up a lot of space more 2/3rds of the hard drive memory is still available. No viruses ect. The laptop tends to get hot, so I have an icepack wrapped in plastic to keep it cool and protect against moisture. It’s doing a great job at keeping cool. My computer has been REALLY slow lately. Both the internet and the desktop are annoyingly slow. It’s a PC and it’s not new, but I’m not sure how old it is. We’ve had it for 3 years and before that, my aunt had for at least 4 years. I defragment it and do the disk cleanup regularly. And it has a lot of free memory left (it’s like 75% of the computer’s total memory is free). I got a virus in my computer, the virus randomly poops up websties when im online, or when i click on a link fro example a link from somthing i googled it send me to this ramdom pages. Laptop: Lenovo Y410 OS: win XP sp3 AntiVirus: Norton Internet Security 2009 Back in the Philippines, I was using my laptop normally. No problems. I could connect to the internet, download stuff with p2p, etc. About a week ago, we arrived in Las Vegas and have been living with my uncle’s. I was enjoyed his really really fast internet (well, compared to my connection back in the Philippines, It was incredibly fast). I was able to download stuff of interest and also surf normally. The problem occurred after I visited a pornsite (and I’ve been visiting this pornsite back then so, I had confidence that It didn’t pose a threat to my system) (and please, I don’t give a **** about what you think about me If I visit porn sites) My laptop started hanging. I have to hold the power button just to turn it off. Usually, windows would show an error that “the laptop didn’t turn off properly” blah blah… It didn’t. After my next attempts of rebooting the laptop, about 5 minutes into operation, it would slow down, and after a few seconds, it would freeze and after trying to run task manager, it would sound off a loud beep that wouldn’t end unless I turn off the laptop by holding the power button. This happens when I’m connected to the net. This also happens when I’m not connected but gives my laptop more normal run time, and eventually hangs. I tried running system restore, It said that “it couldn’t help solve the problem”. I tried running system restore while in safe mode and it was successful. I rebooted back into normal and the same problem occurred (hang, loud beep). I tried doing a system scan in safemode (since in normal mode, it would hang right away), and it found 1 threat (mebroot) and said (Norton) to have resolved it. Fortunately, I had a back up OS (win XPsp3 again installed on a separate partition). I ran it, and connected to the internet. I surfed to google, fry’s, target, (since I was shopping for stuff). After about 20 minutes into browsing, the same thing happened to my laptop (without browsing porn). It hanged, and sounded a loud beep again. My laptop is a year old, and warranty doesn’t cover it any more. I want to know if I’m having hardware problems or software problems. Thanks! Happy New Year! I believe I may have picked up a virus. I deleted norton virus since my account already expired. So I borrowed my brother’s Mcafee and installed it to my computer. Alright, today it seems like my mom’s computer has a virus attack… so I just try to find a way to fix it, but i can’t, why? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IS INFECTED. Hello everyone, i just installed a new PSU and GPU. I think i hooked everything up fine, then my PC got shut down twice, i thought it was the CPU overheating. I connected the fan in more tightly, that may have been the problem. However, my CPU is having a hard time running basic programs. As Im typing this, my CPU percentage is fluctuating between as low as 10% and as high as 30% or even 60% at times!! Im pretty sure i have no viruses, infact, this issue didnt start happening until i installed the new parts. Is it overheating? BIOS upon bootup says my temps are like 37degrees celsius. I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing the DVD. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. Alright, today it seems like my mom’s computer has a virus attack… so I just try to find a way to fix it, but i can’t, why? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IS INFECTED. I found it hard to believe that everything could be infected and thought it was just an antivirus plot for us to buy something. I have this antivirus pro live thing i never downloaded that keeps popping up saying my computer is infested and it doesn’t let me run any programs besides firefox saying they’re infested, it wont let me run combofix avast or anything. Okay, well let me tell you that my computer is filled with worms and all of that, and its pretty bad, because i keep getting a lot of random pop ups every second (I have a Compaq btw) Also i have Alpha Anti virus &i heard that it a fake Protection program, so yeah. I think i have a virus or hijacker or something in my computer as for the past few weeks every website i go on has the same advertisment whereever the advertisments are its for pills. Also when i search for something on like gooogle ect or anything and i click on something like a link it dosent bring up the right link half of the time. I have been trying to do a sytem restore to a point a few months ago when it was fine but when i first click on it nothing happens and so i go back in and click it again and then the window pops up but its comnpletely blank with the wee not reponding icon in the top left hand corner. I dont know what to do to make this work but i recently got nortons 360 on my laptop and ran scans and it removed threats ect but it still happens cant get restore and get thos adds and stuff. So I got a new computer in the middle of October, it is a Toshiba Satellite A500/040, came with Windows vista Home premium. I got a Windows 7 upgrade disc that is only for my computer. I have upgraded my Laptop to windows 7 and am now having troubles… I think I picked up a few viruses and I am wanting to re-install windows to get my laptop back to normal. The only problem is I am not entirely sure if I can re-use the Upgrade disc. Does anyone know if I can? And if not, what I can do? My computer decided to kick off the end of the year by picking up something that is making it act whacky. My AV (McAfee) is logging and blocking something called winupdate86 from creating files. Now it seems that every 20 minutes there is a pop up that states that Windows will download a anti spyware program. This is the first time that this has happened to me, so I don’t know how to handle it. I don’t even know if this is spyware, malware, adware or trojan. Even my AV is logging all this it is still does not seem to see this as a problem. So if you could help by answering some questions I would greatly appreciate it. 1. My computer has two hard drives. The AV is logging and blocking files in the first hard drive. Is the second hard drive infected? 2. What free programs are out there to help remove this from my computer? 3. My friend had an executable file that kept trying to log onto the internet. He fixed it by changing the .exe in the file to a .txt. If I know what files are causing the problem can I do the same thing, without harming my computer? 4. Can I take both hard drives, place them in external hard drive enclosures and have a friend with a clean computer scan them to find and remove the problem? 5. Could AVG be downloaded onto a thumb drive and then used to scan my computer? 6. Would it be possible to move files from the second hard drive to an external hard drive without infecting anything? 7. All my friends have Vista or Windows 7. I used Windows XP. If they decided to scan my computer would this cause a conflict with my drives. That is it for now. I am kind paranoid about downloading and installing anything right now. If you can answer all the questions and give me any direction I would greatly appreciate it. o.k. this thing called security tool kept popping up and telling me all these viruses I had on the computer. I’ve always had no problems with getting internet on my computer. Now I can’t connect. I’ve checked and everything is plugged in. I don’t think it is a problem with the cables because I don’t get the message “Local cable disconnected”. All the other computers in my house are working fine. I think that something is wrong with the actual computer. I had a trojan (InternetSecurity2010) before that happened, maybe that has something to do with it? I’ve tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Other odd things are happening too…after a few hours or so none of the applications will work (iTunes, microsoft word, etc) and a lot of the words start to disappear. Likeee, the start button at the bottom left corner doesn’t say start, it just is a green blob and when you click on it, it only shows the picture for each application. My virus protection was malfunctioning for a short time yesterday, and during that time I got a virus. I believe I’ve gotten rid of it, but I’m now experiencing another problem, which I suspect is some sort of malware that got onto my computer at the same time as the other virus. Whenever I try to do a search (mainly just searches pertaining to the problem at hand, although some normal searches as well), any link that comes up redirects me to a site to buy things or page of fake search engine results. I’m not sure what’s going on and I can’t find out because whatever has installed itself on my computer or in my browser is hijacking my search results. My computer was running just fine until I visited a normal, news website, one that I visited a 1000 times, and my computer became infected with one of those Fake “Anti-Spyware” viruses. I used both Super Anti-spyware and Malwarebyte’s malware programs to finally get rid of that virus, and I rebooted my computer. The virus is gone, my computer is running fine again, except I can’t use the Internet Explorer or Safari web browsers (I’m using Netscape now). I have Verizon High Speed Internet. Wireless, DSL. I have a Modem. Both my laptop and computer are Windows Vista. HP. I know it as nothing to do with my computer becasue i’m usuing a new Laptob and My computer is not the problem, both are Very fast, and clean, No spyware or viruses. I am currently using IE7. Even my M Firefox is slow. I download Google chrome and its still slow. I double checked, my wires they are all secure there are no loose wires. It was my sisters old computer, which always worked fine for her but when put it in my room it no longer works properly. The keyboard and mouse are still on, the number lock light is illuminated, but when i hit Cap lock the light doesn’t come on. I have 2 users on my PC running windows xp. Both have adm authority. I have no problem DLing Flash Player 10 on one of the users “sides” of the PC. On the other side I get to the DL manager, it get through the process but displays-”Failure to register”. I have tried all the KB issues at Adobe related to FP10. Changed the security settings, made sure both user sides matched. I also get referenced to KB19166 at Adobe and I follow all instructions and all variants given and still only the one side get through to a working FP10. I do the uninstalls, reboots and all that and still no progress. I have also tried non Adobe site stand alones too with no resolution.

I recently got a new computer with Windows 7 on it and I have already downloaded Windows Movie Maker Live on it but I’m not too thrilled with it. I would like to setup an FTP and wants my computer at home as the server because I want to access my home files especially when I am away at work and when travels are frequent. I have a bulletproof.ftp as my ftp software and a 24hr running 1mbps internet connection. The problem that I have now is that I cant seem to setup my own. Can somebody help me? Okay so I get a internet connection called linksys? & i don’t pay for my internet but it does connect and I usually get about 2-3 bars. But in the last week It keeps saying that the page cannot be displayed, or it goes to google and says the link is broken. Which i don’t understand because i’ve accessed some of the links before and they worked. & my msn messenger will sign in, and then sign out and then wont connect anymore. I have norton security & its out of date so it doesn’t really do anything anymore? idk. but i have the windows firewall. it is currently turned on. I’ve scanned my computer & it says its fine. I am actually on my computer right now and it will let me access some sites. But then it will say page cannot be displayed. It is strange and is driving me insane. I do not have another computer or access to any other internet. This internet usually works perfectly, but in the past week not so much. I use a compaq windows vista. i have a problem with my internal HDD. When this all happened, i was playing a game online. I got a Virus Worm and i shut down my computer and reformatted my HDD and put windows back on. I had a secondary HDD in for back-up purposes. so got windows in and put everything back, but i then noticed that my computers performance went down drastically with my main HDD, I could not copy anything i had onto the back-up drive and once i did it was so slow to copy the file. Once i had all the files on the back-up drive, i decided to start from the back-up drive with windows. Same applied. It was really slow with the reading-and-writing. i decided to take the secondary back-up drive out and boot from the main HDD. Everything seemed to be running smoothly i checked the main HDD Temperature with HD tune. The drives temp was 37 degrees Celsius, and the drive went to normal temperature of 43-44 degrees Celsius. I then decided to plug in the secondary HDD and leave it on for a day. the temperature went from 43-44 degrees to 47-48 degrees Celsius. So my guess is that the HDD drives are getting way to hot, and i am getting what seems like bad sectors in the drive, but it has never done this before. I have always had my back-up drive in ever since i got my main HDD. I can’t place my finger on what is wrong with my drives. Once the main HDD is lower temperatures the drive seems to be performing better. but its normal temperature is 43-44 degrees Celsius and i still have some problems with reading and writing then. Can someone tell me what has happened please. I dont know if it was from the worm virus or if the temperatures are getting too hot (but has never done this before) can someone tell me what to do. I have changed the line leading into the motherboard as well, and that seems to have no effect. i even swapped the board lines between the CD drives and the HDD drives, no effect on that either. can someone tell me what is going on, i have ran out of options. mmk, so my antivirus expires in march and i’m thinking about switching….i currently have trend micro internet security, because it came with my laptop last christmas, however i’m considering going back to norton, because i had them for like 7 years on my old computer and had very few problems…it blocked alot of crap from my computer too lol. i know that trend micro has blocked some stuff too but it updates constantly and it drives me a little crazy lol. i absolutely refuse to get mcafee, i hate mcafee. its a piece of crap not worth my money, so many people that i know who had it and had trouble with it eithor just glitches or letting crap in other antivirus programs wouldn’t have. and they didnt have their settings turned down low…i dont trust the free antiviruses eithor [avg, avast, avira, etc] because i just dont feel safe with them…i’ve heard kaspersy is pretty good, but what is in your opinion the best [thats not eithor mcafee or one of the free ones? lol] thank you!! I’ve had my laptop since like April, and just at the beginning of this month it started getting really slow (online and offline), and eventually started warning me about how my hard disk is apparently bad, and I should send it to my manufacturer or something. I deleted norton virus since my account already expired. So I borrowed my brother’s Mcafee and installed it to my computer. I was on the internet (Mozilla Firefox) and I was just browsing then a message came up and said something like ‘Windows defender needs you to restart your computer to solve a problem’ so I clicked it and then it obviously restarted. Hi, i had my laptop about 3 weeks ago and 1 week ago i went to log into my account and after i put my password in and clicked enter it said welcome with the loading icon and just stayed like that. It did this every time i tried to log on. I could start it in safe mode. I just wiped my computer clean and started again with the disk. The same thing happened yesterday. I had to recently wipe out my Windows Vista and re-install it with XP because it became too virus infested and completely failed. Now I am looking into how I can prevent these issues. I’ve always had no problems with getting internet on my computer. Now I can’t connect. I’ve checked and everything is plugged in. I don’t think it is a problem with the cables because I don’t get the message “Local cable disconnected”. All the other computers in my house are working fine. I think that something is wrong with the actual computer. I had a trojan (InternetSecurity2010) before that happened, maybe that has something to do with it? I’ve tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Other odd things are happening too…after a few hours or so none of the applications will work (iTunes, microsoft word, etc) and a lot of the words start to disappear. Likeee, the start button at the bottom left corner doesn’t say start, it just is a green blob and when you click on it, it only shows the picture for each application. I’ve run spybot and malwarebytes scans and they both came up with nothing. I dont have any actual antivirus to run because I was in the middle of downloading Kaspersky Anti Virus when it happened and whenever I put in the code, it says that it can’t download because it can’t access the internet. I was up at night on facebook and then I get a notification saying that someone I usually dont really talk to has commented on a photo of mine. so I clicked on it and it made another tab which i found weird, but wanted to know what it was. Then when it loaded it was a scary picture of a person with enlarged eyes that moved flashed fast in my face and just looked creepy. Well It was night time and needless to say it scared the heck out of me, and I automatically closed my eyes and manage to shut my computer down with the button.I turned my comp back on, but unfortunately it restored my facebook page so then it showed me the scary clown IT picture moving fast in my face. I was sorta ready for it so i quickly closed the tab. Now I get notifications saying these people have commented on my picture but some of them send me to a application which i refuse to allow cause it might send me back to that scary picture thing. I did run a scan virus right after because i figured it was a virus but my scan said my computer is fine so yeah I cant find anyone who has had this exact experience but just wondering if it has happened to others?

I generally create doc from a pre-existing and save as. The first will convert but then the second won’t, other than different text the logos footers etc are the same. It comes up on screen as file converted but when you click to open it returns with file does not exist. If i start cutting things out, at some point it may convert but I never quite identify a specific glitch. Is it me or my programmes??

I have a virus that is not allowing me to view hidden files or folders. It won’t either allow me to run regedit or any programs to fix that. But I can access most of my files for backup. I have two computers that I’m now having problems with. yesterday, my first computer shut down and said “RPC has been terminated”. everytime I restart that computer, it gives me another 1:00 minute shut down warning. I know I need to change the settings of the RPC, but it shuts down before I can ever get to it. is there another way to fix this? The second computer messed up today. I was researching how to fix the other RPC problem and my computer shut down. when it rebooted, I now have “Internet security 2010″ installed and I can’t delete it. I had a similiar virus before and was able to manually delete the virus, but this one won’t let me open task manager or the registry to delete it. it’s even taken over my Internet and won’t let me on. so I’m stuck trying to research problems on my iPhone. I read somewhere that if you can’t get task manager to open that you need to wipe out your hard drive. I am wanting to do this but I can’t find my reinstallation CD for this computer which is an emachines. however, I have the installation cd for the other computer with the RPC problem, but that computer is a Dell. can I install a Dell operating system on my emachines? they’re both windows XP. I don’t think I’m losing the monitor, it’s a fairly new laptop designed for Windows XP by Dell. I’m renting to own it and before I’m done paying it off I want to make sure nothing is wrong with it. I don’t use up a lot of space more 2/3rds of the hard drive memory is still available. No viruses ect. The laptop tends to get hot, so I have an icepack wrapped in plastic to keep it cool and protect against moisture. It’s doing a great job at keeping cool. My computer has been REALLY slow lately. Both the internet and the desktop are annoyingly slow. It’s a PC and it’s not new, but I’m not sure how old it is. We’ve had it for 3 years and before that, my aunt had for at least 4 years. I defragment it and do the disk cleanup regularly. I got a virus in my computer, the virus randomly poops up websties when im online, or when i click on a link fro example a link from somthing i googled it send me to this ramdom pages. My internet explorer also keeps on saying that there was an error so it keeps shutting down. Laptop: Lenovo Y410 OS: win XP sp3 AntiVirus: Norton Internet Security 2009 Back in the Philippines, I was using my laptop normally. No problems. I could connect to the internet, download stuff with p2p, etc. About a week ago, we arrived in Las Vegas and have been living with my uncle’s. I was enjoyed his really really fast internet (well, compared to my connection back in the Philippines, It was incredibly fast). I was able to download stuff of interest and also surf normally. The problem occurred after I visited a pornsite (and I’ve been visiting this pornsite back then so, I had confidence that It didn’t pose a threat to my system) (and please, I don’t give a **** about what you think about me If I visit porn sites) My laptop started hanging. I have to hold the power button just to turn it off. Usually, windows would show an error that “the laptop didn’t turn off properly” blah blah… It didn’t. After my next attempts of rebooting the laptop, about 5 minutes into operation, it would slow down, and after a few seconds, it would freeze and after trying to run task manager, it would sound off a loud beep that wouldn’t end unless I turn off the laptop by holding the power button. This happens when I’m connected to the net. This also happens when I’m not connected but gives my laptop more normal run time, and eventually hangs. I tried running system restore, It said that “it couldn’t help solve the problem”. I tried running system restore while in safe mode and it was successful. I rebooted back into normal and the same problem occurred (hang, loud beep). I tried doing a system scan in safemode (since in normal mode, it would hang right away), and it found 1 threat (mebroot) and said (Norton) to have resolved it. Fortunately, I had a back up OS (win XPsp3 again installed on a separate partition). I ran it, and connected to the internet. I surfed to google, fry’s, target, (since I was shopping for stuff). After about 20 minutes into browsing, the same thing happened to my laptop (without browsing porn). It hanged, and sounded a loud beep again. My laptop is a year old, and warranty doesn’t cover it any more. I want to know if I’m having hardware problems or software problems. Thanks! Happy New Year! mmk, so my antivirus expires in march and i’m thinking about switching….i currently have trend micro internet security, because it came with my laptop last christmas, however i’m considering going back to norton, because i had them for like 7 years on my old computer and had very few problems…it blocked alot of crap from my computer too lol. i know that trend micro has blocked some stuff too but it updates constantly and it drives me a little crazy lol. i absolutely refuse to get mcafee, i hate mcafee. its a piece of crap not worth my money, so many people that i know who had it and had trouble with it eithor just glitches or letting crap in other antivirus programs wouldn’t have. and they didnt have their settings turned down low…i dont trust the free antiviruses eithor [avg, avast, avira, etc] because i just dont feel safe with them…i’ve heard kaspersy is pretty good, but what is in your opinion the best [thats not eithor mcafee or one of the free ones? lol] thank you!! I opened the MS Word 2007 and it opened for about 2 and a half seconds then just suddenly closes. I believe I may have picked up a virus. Just yesterday my pc started acting “funny” - locking up when moving from one thing to another, etc. Then today I attempted to log into my online bank account and was taken to a page (which looked as though it was part of my bank’s site) that was asking for my name, dob, ss#, bank card number, pin, etc in order to “verify” me. I knew this wasn’t right so I closed internet explorer, re-opened and tried going to Ebay, when I attempted to log in there I was taken to the same sort of page but this time it looked like it was part of the Ebay site. I use Itunes for all of my music….but it costs a lot of money. I probably go through $50 of Itunes money a month and it’s getting ridiculous. I deleted norton virus since my account already expired. So I borrowed my brother’s Mcafee and installed it to my computer. I tried getting on the Internet but when I do the page connection says cannot be connected. So I checked the signal strength and it says ” very good” but it’s still not connected? Alright, today it seems like my mom’s computer has a virus attack… so I just try to find a way to fix it, but i can’t, why? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IS INFECTED. Hello everyone, i just installed a new PSU and GPU. I think i hooked everything up fine, then my PC got shut down twice, i thought it was the CPU overheating. I connected the fan in more tightly, that may have been the problem. However, my CPU is having a hard time running basic programs. As Im typing this, my CPU percentage is fluctuating between as low as 10% and as high as 30% or even 60% at times!! I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing the DVD. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. My computer has been REALLY slow lately. Both the internet and the desktop are annoyingly slow. It’s a PC and it’s not new, but I’m not sure how old it is. We’ve had it for 3 years and before that, my aunt had for at least 4 years. I defragment it and do the disk cleanup regularly. And it has a lot of free memory left (it’s like 75% of the computer’s total memory is free). Do this for any kind of converter you download: Before installing, go to www.VirusTotal.com. Upload your file and it will take like 2 minutes to scan it with 40 different Anti-Virus softwares. I have a virus that is not allowing me to view hidden files or folders. It won’t either allow me to run regedit or any programs to fix that. But I can access most of my files for backup. I was on the internet (Mozilla Firefox) and I was just browsing then a message came up and said something like ‘Windows defender needs you to restart your computer to solve a problem’ so I clicked it and then it obviously restarted. I tried to log onto my user area and it took longer than usual to load up and when it finally loaded up it had a blank background and my documents, no task-bar or shortcut. The only way I got onto the internet was by going on my downloads going on Spotify and then clicking on an advert, for the past couple of days I’ve been getting warnings saying that I have a harmful virus so I clicked ‘Remove’ and it said it had gone but every hour or so it kept coming back up. My friend in Nebraska has asked me to help her with her laptop (i live in AZ ,she used to live here too). She downloaded a bunch of viruses disguised as a virus danger warning from the main OS (ironic huh?) all I know to do is to take it to a computer store like best buy or get a free anti virus software. I think it has a virus which should be able to fix and one of the usb ports has been pushed in but this should also be easy to fix. Everything else is in good condition? I paid around 1000 for it. I renewed my trend micro on september this year, b/c I’ve had it for so long and it nevergave me problems. My computer has detendted so many viruses, and it crashed on me. I have this antivirus pro live thing i never downloaded that keeps popping up saying my computer is infested and it doesn’t let me run any programs besides firefox saying they’re infested, it wont let me run combofix avast or anything. I have AVG on it, but whenever I go to piratebay, not even download just go to a link on there I get a butt ton of viruses and my computer won’t allow me to run AVG, any program, or the internet because they are all corrupt. Okay, well let me tell you that my computer is filled with worms and all of that, and its pretty bad, because i keep getting a lot of random pop ups every second (I have a Compaq btw) Also i have Alpha Anti virus &i heard that it a fake Protection program, so yeah. I have gotten a virus on my computer.. It’s a rogue anti-virus program that says I have a whole lot of viruses and have to buy their program. I know not to click it or anything.. but after I try to run some antivirus and malware programs, it just freezes. I am unable to open web sites because this personal security web site keeps popping up. it is telling me there is no virus protection found on my computer. I think i have a virus or hijacker or something in my computer as for the past few weeks every website i go on has the same advertisment whereever the advertisments are its for pills. Also when i search for something on like gooogle ect or anything and i click on something like a link it dosent bring up the right link half of the time. So I got a new computer in the middle of October, it is a Toshiba Satellite A500/040, came with Windows vista Home premium. I got a Windows 7 upgrade disc that is only for my computer. I have upgraded my Laptop to windows 7 and am now having troubles… I think I picked up a few viruses and I am wanting to re-install windows to get my laptop back to normal. The only problem is I am not entirely sure if I can re-use the Upgrade disc. Does anyone know if I can? And if not, what I can do? My computer decided to kick off the end of the year by picking up something that is making it act whacky. My AV (McAfee) is logging and blocking something called winupdate86 from creating files. Now it seems that every 20 minutes there is a pop up that states that Windows will download a anti spyware program. This is the first time that this has happened to me, so I don’t know how to handle it. I don’t even know if this is spyware, malware, adware or trojan. Even my AV is logging all this it is still does not seem to see this as a problem. So if you could help by answering some questions I would greatly appreciate it. 1. My computer has two hard drives. The AV is logging and blocking files in the first hard drive. Is the second hard drive infected? 2. What free programs are out there to help remove this from my computer? 3. My friend had an executable file that kept trying to log onto the internet. He fixed it by changing the .exe in the file to a .txt. If I know what files are causing the problem can I do the same thing, without harming my computer? 4. Can I take both hard drives, place them in external hard drive enclosures and have a friend with a clean computer scan them to find and remove the problem? 5. Could AVG be downloaded onto a thumb drive and then used to scan my computer? 6. Would it be possible to move files from the second hard drive to an external hard drive without infecting anything? 7. All my friends have Vista or Windows 7. I used Windows XP. If they decided to scan my computer would this cause a conflict with my drives. That is it for now. I am kind paranoid about downloading and installing anything right now. If you can answer all the questions and give me any direction I would greatly appreciate it. Please bear in mind that I am not that very computer saavy. o.k. this thing called security tool kept popping up and telling me all these viruses I had on the computer. Well now it completely blanked out my screen making it the only thing visible and everytime I try presing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to go to my task manager it blocks it off with a virus pop up!!! The only way i’m on the internet right now is because I went threw start… PLEASE help me, there is absolutly no way for me to get this of my computer! Now it says it has a firewall up that blocks my internet. This is doing more harm then good as you see obviously. I’ve always had no problems with getting internet on my computer. Now I can’t connect. I’ve checked and everything is plugged in. I don’t think it is a problem with the cables because I don’t get the message “Local cable disconnected”. All the other computers in my house are working fine. I think that something is wrong with the actual computer. I had a trojan (InternetSecurity2010) before that happened, maybe that has something to do with it? I’ve tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Other odd things are happening too…after a few hours or so none of the applications will work (iTunes, microsoft word, etc) and a lot of the words start to disappear. Likeee, the start button at the bottom left corner doesn’t say start, it just is a green blob and when you click on it, it only shows the picture for each application. I’ve run spybot and malwarebytes scans and they both came up with nothing. I dont have any actual antivirus to run because I was in the middle of downloading Kaspersky Anti Virus when it happened and whenever I put in the code, it says that it can’t download because it can’t access the internet. Any ideas? My virus protection was malfunctioning for a short time yesterday, and during that time I got a virus. I believe I’ve gotten rid of it, but I’m now experiencing another problem, which I suspect is some sort of malware that got onto my computer at the same time as the other virus. Whenever I try to do a search (mainly just searches pertaining to the problem at hand, although some normal searches as well), any link that comes up redirects me to a site to buy things or page of fake search engine results. I’m not sure what’s going on and I can’t find out because whatever has installed itself on my computer or in my browser is hijacking my search results. I’m sure there’s an answer out there, but I can’t find it because I can’t do a proper search. Any tips you can give me for how to eliminate this problem would be greatly appreciated. I use Firefox and XP Professional. Also, I have been receiving a lot of notifications from Nortons that an IP address in Luxembourg (212.117.174.176) is trying to attack my computer. Hi, Ok I have a dell laptop inspiron E1505, I really need help with this malware or whatever it is ! I didn’t have a good virus protection, and at the time of infection a prompt kept coming up something like you can delete this virus but you may lose files, damage your computer or it may not restart! I got frustrated seeing the same thing, so instead of downloading a better virus protector I press yes and my computer shut down on me. It restarted, and then I got the virus protector like a dummy. But now Im getting prompts that say, “___dllc:/windows/system32/lasbemo.dll file image does not exists check this against you diskette!! its a buch off different ones. My computer was running just fine until I visited a normal, news website, one that I visited a 1000 times, and my computer became infected with one of those Fake “Anti-Spyware” viruses. I used both Super Anti-spyware and Malwarebyte’s malware programs to finally get rid of that virus, and I rebooted my computer. The virus is gone, my computer is running fine again, except I can’t use the Internet Explorer or Safari web browsers (I’m using Netscape now). Whenever I open a window in IE or Safari, I get an error message, “Cannot display web page.” This happened once before, and I used the System Restore function to take my computer back to a time before a virus hit. But now, System Restore won’t start, nor can I get my computer to work in Safe Mode. How do I get System Restore to start up again? I tried several different ways, but nothing is working. Help! I have Verizon High Speed Internet. Wireless, DSL. I have a Modem. Both my laptop and computer are Windows Vista. HP. I know it as nothing to do with my computer becasue i’m usuing a new Laptob and My computer is not the problem, both are Very fast, and clean, No spyware or viruses. I am currently using IE7. Even my M Firefox is slow. I download Google chrome and its still slow. I double checked, my wires they are all secure there are no loose wires. I have a Linksy Router, and it is secured with WPA-PSK. I know no one hacked in, so thats not the case for slow ness. Also, You know how a Modem has green, blinking lights. Sometimes My Internet goes a way, the internet light gos away for minutes or an hour, then the Internet comes back. Its frustrating. My friend has the same Internet as me…she lives a couple doors away…and her Internet is like lightning very fast….AND NO she does not have fios…her internet is the same. as mines. It takes forever for utube and hulu video to load. I have flashplayer 10. something…. SO……………………… I’m asking u guys b4 i call the company…. It was my sisters old computer, which always worked fine for her but when put it in my room it no longer works properly. The keyboard and mouse are still on, the number lock light is illuminated, but when i hit Cap lock the light doesn’t come on. The computer isn’t frozen, the clock works and the little hour glass appears by the mouse. Because the buttons don’t work Ctrl Alt Del doesn’t work, or Alt F4. I can’t open a virus scan either. I think i have a virus or hijacker or something in my computer as for the past few weeks every website i go on has the same advertisment whereever the advertisments are its for pills. Also when i search for something on like gooogle ect or anything and i click on something like a link it dosent bring up the right link half of the time. I have been trying to do a sytem restore to a point a few months ago when it was fine but when i first click on it nothing happens and so i go back in and click it again and then the window pops up but its comnpletely blank with the wee not reponding icon in the top left hand corner. I dont know what to do to make this work but i recently got nortons 360 on my laptop and ran scans and it removed threats ect but it still happens cant get restore and get thos adds and stuff. I Was told it may be a hijacker. I was wondering if it fixes and ridsit as it hasnt really done any good yet and i paid £60 for it and also how would i do it with it???
